Day 4 of Iran 40th Quran Contest: Recitations in Videos

IQNA – On the fourth day of Iran’s 40th International Holy Quran Competitions, several qaris and memorizers from different states went on stage.

The competitions continued on Monday in the morning and the afternoon. 

The women’s section wrapped up in the morning after three days of competition in the Tarteel recitation and Quran memorization categories. Participants are now awaiting the results that will be announced in the closing ceremony on Wednesday. 

The men’s competitions that was held in the afternoon and lasted for several hours featured the performances of four qaris and four memorizers. 

Representatives from Iraq, Malaysia, the Netherlands, and Singapore delivered their performances in the Tahqiq recitation category. 

Abdullah Zahir Hadi from Iraq recited verses 165-170 of Surah Al-Baqarah.

Aiman Ridhwan from Malaysia recited verses 25-30 of Surah Ar-Rum.

Musfata al-Ali from the Netherlands recited verses 7-13 of Surah Ar-Rum.

Singapore’s Mohammad Sadid recited verses 146-151 of Surah Al-Baqarah.

In the male memorization category, representatives from Iran, Tunisia, Algeria, and Syria went on stage and their performance can be viewed here

The prestigious competition, which began on Thursday, has attracted Quran enthusiasts from around the world.

More than 110 countries registered for Iran's 40th International Quran Competition, but only 69 finalists from 40 countries made it to the final round after a rigorous screening process.

Contestants compete in the main categories of Quran recitation (for men) and Quran memorization and Tateel recitation (for men and women).

The competition will run until Tuesday, February 20, and the winners will be honored at the closing ceremony on Wednesday, February 21.

The annual event, organized by the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, aims to promote the Quranic culture and values among Muslims and showcase the talents of Quran reciters and memorizers.
